A lie can only bring you so far. For one man lying is a part of his life. Jack McCall (Eddie Murphy) is a business man that will go to any length to get what he wants. Manipulating people and saying so many lies you'd have to believe what he was saying must be true. His only weapon was his voice, but what would happen if that was taken away. That could never happen could it?
A newly famous guru was in town and just finished writing his book. Jack needed to sign him before anyone else did, so he used the talents of his lies to convince him. At the temple Jack leans against a tree that gives him a small cut and ruins his life. This one tree was very special in the way that it represented life. More specifically Jack's life. Every leaf on that tree was equivalent to one word spoken by Jack. Do you know what happens when all the leaves fall off a tree? That tree dies. This can only mean one thing, if Jack says too many words he dies!
I thought the movie was kinda dull and not created for my age group. In my opinion i was never really a fan of Eddy Murphy in any of his movies, but with no other choice at the time I decided to watch the movie. I can't recommend the movie, but if you enjoy a little romantic comedy then this is probably a good movie for you. A thousand words isn't a lot and so is it's rating that's why this movie gets a sad 2 out of 5 stars.
